Interesting Primary Participant Numbers |
|
If I am counting correctly, only about 17,000 Republicans turned out on this blue-bird day to participate in their caucuses. Yet 37,000 Kansans turned out in cold, rainy or blizzard conditions. I think that these disproportionate turn-outs reflect the grossly disproportionate excitement in the ranks of the two different parties. Indeed, the Republican numbers - given the historical truth of this state being intensely red - seems downright moribund.

1. From watching the news, you'd think the turnout was huge. |

The news tonight was showing these pictures with some long lines for voting. I think the people in line thought they were getting free ice cream or something.

the Dem turnout wasn't covered, and just like all the protests all over the country get NO coverage. Even when half a million people show up in DC.

3. don't read too much into this |

I think the republicans pretty much had a foregone conclusion and decided to sit it out. Or, this may just be part of an idea to mask their numbers when it comes election time....
