Charles Schollenberger for US senate |
|
So I went to my second 3rd Saturday breakfast, and this time Dennis McKinney was there. So was a Charles Schallenberger who says he is thinking about running for the Senate. A cursory google search does not tell me anything except that other places have already known that he was thinking about it and that he has worked as a journalist and also in animal medicine.
Anybody know him?
It sorta doesn't matter to me, since I don't think we will win, even against Tiahrt, but it would be nice to at least have a candidate, and the sooner the better.

1. I am on his exploratory committee |
|
He is a nice guy and seems to understand the issues well. Don't know a lot about him yet.

2. Schollenberger to run for Senate |
|
He just announced his candidacy today at the historic site Brown vs the Board of Education. Check out his website for more details (www.schollenberger2010.com). There is also a Schollenberger group on Facebook - Schollenberger for US Senate.

4. Since he is our only declared candidate for a big office here in this area |
|
it seems like our party would be putting a lot of energy into his campaign.
No candidate for 3rd district yet. No candidate for 2nd district yet. No candidate for governor. No candidate for SOS.
And the KDP ignores our US Senate candidate.

5. well we HAD candidates for both of those districts |
|
but they've recently withdrawn. Same with Governor. I can't blame them for dumping the Senate and concentrating on races we might have a better chance of winning, like 3rd district or Raj Goyle. And if Parkinson could be convinced to run, we might have a shot at Governor.

7. up until about six weeks ago |

it was Dennis Moore. Unless he told people earlier, it is not that easy to find another candidate in a short time.

I was thinking someone had declared since he announced his retirement.
But yes they have had time to line up a new candidate. Moore said he would only serve 5 terms and he ran a 6th time. So you bet they knew and could have prepared.

10. Now we have two more candidates |
|
Lisa Johnston and State Senator David Haley. Haley talked about running at Washington Days, but it has taken him until now to actually enter the race as of a few weeks ago.
