Amnesty International: Candle light vigil 8/7/06 |
|
To anyone who is interested:
Amnesty International is hosting a candle light vigil tomorrow night (8/7/06) at 8:45pm in Triangle Park in Lexington, KY (corner of Broadway and Main St in downtown) to call for a cease fire between Israel and Lebanon. This vigil will be held all across the globe tomorrow. This is not a political event. If you come, please do not bring signs that denigrate the current administration, Israel, or Lebanon/Hezbollah. We will be standing with the victims on both sides of the violence, Israeli and Lebanese alike. If you want to bring a sign, please bring one that carries a message of peace. Additionally, this is BYOC (bring your own candle).
If you would like more information you can contact Don at dbp91044@windstream.net

I was there. The turn out was what we expected, the passerby's friendly.
The media that showed was sympathetic. WKYT and the Herald Leader was there.
It was on the local news during All Things Considered on WUKY.
Thank you for coming out and thank you for posting it here.
