My LTTE re: Ann Northup's attack ad on John Yarmuth |

I surely hope Ann Northup has never changed her mind on any topic. She is accusing John Yarmuth of doing the same and she'd be a hypocrite if she has, which is not an absurd notion.
First, she accuses Yarmuth of supporting a gas tax increase, in 1996, but proposing a gas tax cut now. Well, Rep. Northup, the highest gas prices were back then was $1.26, according to the Dept. of Energy’s website. In fact, gas was still only $1.46 when Pres. Bush took office in 2001. Prices were over double that as recently as six weeks ago. One can easily see how Yarmuth has adapted his position as the prices have changed.
Second, she accuses Yarmuth of opposing the current Medicare prescription drug bill but having supported one before. Apparently, Rep. Northup feels the current legislation was the only option and one that's been beneficial to seniors and not to the drug companies. Unfortunately, she would be incredibly wrong. The current bill is projected to cost $1.2 Trillion. That’s three times higher than in the Bush administration’s sales pitch to Congress.
Rep. Northup would have us stay the course despite the icebergs dead ahead.

really good ads! I think this guy is top notch. Hopefully he can win. Here's kind of a funny one, the rest focus on issues and are really good - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waFeZ8n77F8&mode=related&search=
