Rhoads should run for 1st Congressional District seat

Next year will mark the fourteenth anniversary of when Ed Whitfield was first elected to the United States Congress. It will also commemorate the fourteenth year the wonderful people of the First Congressional District have been truly misrepresented during the times we need honest representation the most.

The potential candidacy of State Senator Jerry Rhoads transcends and unites people of all political parties and ideologies. Though a faithful Democrat, Senator Rhoads has garnered the respect and admiration of many traditionally conservative groups and interests-including the National Rifle Association. A Captain in the United States Army during the Vietnam-War era, his struggle to honor our veterans continues to this day in the Kentucky Legislature. Understanding the benefits and hazards of mining, Senator Rhoads has led the way in the Senate to make one of Kentucky’s most valuable and respected careers safer.

Last year, the people of the Sixth State Senatorial District chose to re-elect him with nearly 70% of the vote.

State Senator Jerry Rhoads has done exceptionally well as our beloved State Senator, but he would do even better as our Congressman in the United States House of Representatives.

Please do all you can to ensure Senator Rhoads considers running for US Congress.
