Need help in South Central Kentucky. |
|
My landlord is trying to evict me and I need find shelter for 5 orphaned kittens I have been taking care of.
No local shelter for cats, surrounding area shelters won't accept them, the rescue groups I know of in KY and TN are full and there are no available fosters. They are not completely weaned from the bottle yet. The papers are filled with ads for free kittens.
I have put him off as long as I can but I'm afraid I will have to have the babies euthanized by the end of the week.
A vet suggested I hand them out in a Walmart parking lot but I can't do that in good conscience. Locals use them to "train" pit bulls and they have even caught one kid in my neighborhood cutting off the tails of cats and kittens. The vet said that they get several people who call frequently for kitten, and I don't want to think about what happens to all of them...
I'm running out of time. Does anybody have any other suggestions ?

1. I don't know where you are, exactly |
|
but if you're near one of the community colleges you might go to campus and put up a sign or just wander around asking students if they want a kitten. I know this is a longshot, but it's what came to mind.
Best of luck with this.

3. A university might be a better place than a community college! |
|
Western has a lot of students and you might get lucky there. I sure hope so.
Best wishes to you.
