FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Seventeen percent of registered voters in Kentucky say they think they will vote for Gov. Ernie Fletcher when he seeks re-election in 2007, according to The Courier-Journal's latest Bluegrass Poll.
The poll also showed that 44 percent of Kentuckians approve of his performance as governor, but 48 percent disapprove.

Fletcher said the poll "is one snapshot in time. It probably doesn't mean anything in the long run."

"I don't think the people understand the unprecedented nature of this investigation," he said. "I think we have adequate evidence that the investigation is unusual and appears to be very politically motivated."
