At least a half-dozen of Gov. Ernie Fletcher's top officials contributed this year to his re-election campaign, although in its Nov. 15 report, his campaign did not disclose their state employment, as required by law.
Instead, it listed the officials -- including two cabinet secretaries and the chairman of the Public Service Commission -- under jobs they held before joining the Fletcher administration...

"In the history of our state, there is a tendency for good things to happen to people who contribute to governors," Beliles said. "So it's important that we know exactly who they are, particularly if they've already gotten jobs from the governor."

Hall, the governor's spokesman, said the campaign accidentally used its 2003 information for donors who gave two years ago and again this year. The campaign updated only the dates and amounts of their contributions, he said.
But at least one official, Hoover, is not listed as a donor to Fletcher's 2003 campaign. In an interview, Hoover said he did not recall making a 2003 donation.
