Louisiana DU'ers plead with Texas neighbors |
|
It's NO FUN wondering if your relatives and friends are alive or dead after a shitstorm hurricane like Katrina. Please let the people you care about know where you will be during and after the storm.
We all know you're smart enough to GTFO after seeing what we just went through. You know that your house (near the coast) wasn't built to stand up to winds like this. You've been through this before and you don't need a laundry list of things to buy/do.
The cellular phone towers in the eastern part of LA were useless after Katrina. Only Nextel 2-way worked full-time during and after the storm. This is not an endorsement, just a fact. My companys New Orleans branch people had Nextel, and it was the ONLY way to contact them.
When I travelled to Houston a week after Katrina, multiple people offered help and they told me the same 2 things. 1. It could have been us. 2. You would do the same for us.
remember #2. we're here for you.
