What's the lodging and travel situation for Carnival?

I just realized yesterday I have enough carryover vacation time to make it happen. It'll be my first time back in since the phrase "President Bush" wasn't an oxymoron! :bounce:

Any suggestions? I'd be getting in the weekend of the 18th, so price is definitely a factor.

Then again, the general craziness of Carnival might interfere with the real reason I'd be coming, which would be to try and hook up with people (former associates as well as DUers and other online folk) to see what role, if any, I might be able to play in the rebuilding effort. The vacation time, though, must be used by the end of March.
