They do exist here in the great southern state of Louisiana! The only problem is when they try to talk sense with the Faux News junkies, Limbaugh worshiping, Hannity cultists and Bill O no spin zone(no truth zone) zombies, they get dismissed by the traditional news media and by the Religious Activists. It seems people everywhere no longer want to think for themselves, research a topic from both sides and use intelligence to fashion a supportable opinion.
Many of my fellow citizens have swallowed the kool aid of the far right as the bedrock guidelines for middle class values. No Moderates, it is far us or against us. Friend or Foe, you choose.
The progressive politician is ignored and ridiculed by many in this state, they consider it great sport here. So the Progressive politician usually keeps their heads down and toil in the committees trying to produce a more equitable society for everyone.

Sure there are, look at the top of the page.
DU is advertising for David Vitter. Obviously he must be a progressive.
or a liberal or whatever we're trying to package ourselves as so we don't offend somebody. You gotta love labels. We do it to ourselves.
