Any DUers want to hire a DU bartender in Baton Rouge? |
|
I just finished bartending school and I'm looking for a gig. If you can offer one or you know of an opening, let me know.
There seem to be no openings for bartenders in the paper. But I also realize those who offer these jobs don't often advertise them in the paper.

1. I bar-tended my way through college |
|
and avoided student loans!:)
The way to find jobs is to go to the bars you are interested in in the area, and check out the scene.... chat w/ the 'tender if you are able to. Does She (He) like their job?
Some bars reek, and others I would work for again (w/the salary cut) in an instant - If I were not the mommy of a coupla' younguns.
Sometimes 'neighborhood bars' are higher$ than the trendy ones .... Look Around!!!
Be cool, and be able to 'shift' personalities if the opportunity arises (but not red-neck A-holes).
Best of luck, 2-3 of my best years were spent behind the bars and the books!!

3. why not move to New Orleans |
|
there's lots of money to be made downtown.
Good luck with your job search. You can also search on www.nola.com
and there's probably a Baton Rouge equivalent of that site but sometimes BR positions are listed there. Congratulations on graduation too! :)
