I called her up to see how she weathered the storm (didn't lose power this time).

She's a "Reagan Democrat" (sometimes more Reagan than Democrat).

Anyway...She asked me what I thought would happen in the upcoming elections, and I said "Baldacci wins and hopefully TABOR loses."

Then she sez "That TABOR thing will destroy public education in Maine and I'm not for it."

Then she sez "You know, that Jean Hay Bright is pretty sharp...I think I'm voting for her too."

Did you say before that she's a republican? Sounds like she's one of those old-fashioned common-sense republicans. Who knows, maybe there's more like her out there. I sure hope so.

2. She's more Independent than Republican

Voted for Anderson in 1980 and Reagan in 1984, Gore in 2000 and Kerry in 2004 and Jock for Gov back in the '80's)

I really thought she would vote for Olympia again.
