Wells lighthouse museum to migrate north; Rockland to house nation's largest lighthouse museum

ROCKLAND (Dec 14): Rockland is destined to become home of the nation's largest lighthouse museum.
If it looks like things are getting a little brighter and a little busier down at the Maine Lighthouse Museum, it’s because they are. Fresh on the heels of the announcement that Bank of America is offering to sell the building to either the city or through the city to the museum comes word that the American Lighthouse Foundation, the largest and most respected organization of its kind in the country, will be leaving Wells, Maine and moving in with the MLM.

The announcement of the partnership was to be made at a press conference December 13 by Renny Stackpole, the newly installed chairman of the board of directors of the Maine Lighthouse Museum and Tim Harrison, president of the ALF.
