one of our local elected officials just made the statement that Canadians pay 50% tax rate because of health care.
well if you gross $5oo a week,you clear after taxes aprox $400= 25% and thats low end
if you are married and have one child your health care is $165 per week min.=33%
25 +33=58%= we pay more to live than canadians
once again mis information about universal health-care.
I hope people see through these idiotic statements made on this program

CANADIANS KEEP A BIGGER PERCENTAGE OF THEIR PAY THAN AMERICANS AND HAVE A MUCH BETTER
HEALTH CARE SYSTEM PER CAPITA THAN WE DO.
HALF MY LIVING FAMILY IS CANADIAN!AND MOST ARE SELF EMPLOYED!OR MILITARY!AND I BELIEVE THEIR OLD AGE BENEFITS ARE EQUAL OR BETTER THAN OURS.
