I like to watch cnn or other channels that carry committee hearings. well all in one breath OUR SECT. OF ENERGY spouted out all the alternative energy will not make us fossil fuel free.(of course not) but we need to continue to invest in them(essentially do nothing) and continue to keep oil prices high.
If we had invested the money we give to the oil companies(in the last 30 years) in alternative fuel we could have built 5 nuclear plants,rebuilt all the bridges in the usa,built a refinery that could make fuel for california specs.(we currently get over 90% of it from irving). if a wind mill for a family home costs $3000 installed how many homes
could have one for $750 billion or more in tax breaks and free leases to the oil companies?
how about solar panels? you see every drop they can force you to use means that much more they can charge for their product.
we need to wean off fossil fuels rapidly. it will take years to succeed a 100% but we've wasted 30 years at a snails pace. it's time to trot!
