the Maine State workers are being offered a no lay-offs budget, the end of forced furloughs (which will increase their pay by 2%), and in return are being asked to retire later and contribute more to their insurance and pension plans. The increase in the pension contribution will bring them up to around 5% from about 3% now. A paper mill worker is already paying 7 1/2% - for a lesser amount of retirement income from Social Security.
is is just part of a blog by a typical blogger in this forum who is so mis-informed and should be brought to task! "the state employees total is around 7.6% with the state contributing approx. 5.0%" under the new plan! I left state employment years ago and my part was 5% -this is the stuff spread by the unknowing to fool the ignorant! actually in many cases an employee would be better off with social security especially in low paying jobs! my mesa dues were roughly 35 cents a week! a far cry from this poster story that a wisconsin's state employee pays $1100 a year or $21.15 a week! the truth is le page wants the state worker to pay 9.2% please address this every chance you get! this is typical of the crap they spiel - and what some even take for gospel! ya gotta admit the leaders of this group are extremely bias!

the know it all that posted the mis-information about what state employees pay for their pension is still posting unabated bull shit in that right wing nerd forum! he likes to come across as a well educated person. I find him the type one soon would like to educate beyond the minuscule world he lives in. I believe he is probably the most mis-informed person in that forum!(could he be a koch stodge)_ well have a nice day, and pray for a solution in Japan
