Duncan is running some serious TV-Spots in the Baltimore area. |

And he's taking out all the stops. Going after Ehrlich and O'Malley. I just saw an ad that rips O'Malley and Ehrlich for failing school systems. I cant say I blame Duncan, though, his county does have some of the best schools in the country. If I were him, I would want to highlight that too.

1. Holy shit, just saw another one. |

This time Duncan rips O'Malley for crime stats and fudging the numbers. He goes on to rip Ehrlich for not supporting the assault weapons ban.

2. Is Duncan's negativity a turn-off for anyone else? |
|
The vast difference in tone between Duncan and O'Malley's campaigns is what originally drew me to support O'Malley. It really started to get going after the Virginia election in which a lot of people said they voted for Kaine because they were tired of Kilgore's negative campaigning (as well as his near-constant automated phone calls).
No one has convinced me yet that MoCo's schools are that good because of anything Duncan's done, rather than all the money the county has.
By the way, what's up with your blog, Nick? Did you give it up, or did you move it?

it anymore.
Im taking 15 credits and working two part time jobs. Plus, I start my full time internship in a couple weeks; on top of taking 12 credits in the summer, so it was time to shut it down. I guess I could have left it up, but I didnt want to pay the fee for a never updated blog.

I know that attacking O'Malley and Ehrlich is the only was he has as shot of winning the primary. If I were in his shoes, I would do the same thing. Actually, Id probably be much more negative.
Duncan's been involved in MoCo politics for a long time. From County Council, to Mayor, to County Executive. Its hard not to give him credit for their great school system, and I do mean great. They have some of the highest SAT and AP scores in the COUNTRY. Several of their public High Schools are ranked in the top 50 nationally. MoCo should be what every county in Maryland aspires to be.

with Duncan's negativity for some time now. But for that I would have given him more consideration in the primary. I don't think he will be the nominee, and his negativity is giving fodder to the Republicans. Besides...why is he not just running on his record and what he can do, without trashing a fellow Democrate who has resisted negativity toward Duncan?

country because they are one of the wealthiest counties in the nation. Baltimore has poor schools because it is a poor city. The schools were worse. There was a lot worse about Baltimore before O'Malley. There was not much wrong with Mo Co before Duncan took the reins, at least in comparison. Compare the budgets, compare the per capita income. There really is no comparison.
I think he is quite justified in focussing on his own successes and he is justified in going after Erlich for anything.
As for his constant negative attacks for O'Malley, it sets a very bad tone for the General Election.

7. I see his negativity and I see a Republican |

I know he's not and if he wins the primary, he's my guy.
But the negative shit against O'Malley is not good for our side and I actually resent it.

8. I've noticed that he has flooded the airwave between 5-8pm. |
|
He has 5-6 ads just between 6 and 7:30pm. The issue I have is trying to paint O'Malley and Ehrlich as the same. I realize that O'malley has been ignoring Duncan, but to make O'Malley look like Erhlich doesn't go over real well.
I think that O'malley's record on schools and the crime rate in baltimore is going to be a liability. Watch Channel 2 news and it's all negative about Baltimore's crime rate and schools.
With that said, I will go with whomever comes out of the primary.
