1. Apparently the debate was a wash. |

Mfume and Cardin agreed on nearly every issue.
The only issue they seemed to disagree on was illegal immigration. Cardin says illegals should be sent back. Mfume favors a more pro-amnesty approach.
Just another reason to back Cardin, IMO.

3. Its not a given, but I believe Cardin will pull it out. |

If Steele can manage to peel off enough of the black vote, we could be in for a long election night come novemeber.
There are a number of other issues that will effect this race, but most of it comes down to race...

that most comes down to race. Cardin is a better manager. And Mfume couldn't manage his way out of a paper bag. Mfume will look silly with his short self standing next to Steele. And I believe once elected Cardin would be a more effective Senator.

I was trying to point out that African Americans, possibly even Mfume supporters, could cross party lines and vote for Steele in the general election. It is widely known that Mfume supporters truely believe that there was a conspiracy by party bosses to derail his campaign from the day he announced.
I wouldnt bee suprised to see middle and upper class blacks in MoCo and PG County cross party lines to break an African American through the glass ceiling. I also belive young African Americans will connect more with Steele than with Cardin.
I believe what will put Cardin over the edge in Novemember is a lot of Ehrlich/Cardin split tickets in the Baltimore suburbs.
