Me: Mfume/O'Malley/Simms/Franchot
Sparkly: uh .... different. :) She voted: Cardin/O'Malley/Gansler/Owens
No matter the result, we'll both be happy. We'll be doing ground work for O'Malley.
If Mfume wins, I'll be on the ground for him too.

I know this is going to sound shallow, but more than anything else, I hope that Schaeffer loses.

We are on pins and needles waiting to hear the results.
Read as post here that said the voting machines etc. in Maryland were having major problems. :(
Hope Roves's elves have not tricked us once again.

Like the Pendrench, I hope Schaeffer loses. He is an embarassment.

a newcomer to Maryland politics? Embarassment is a core part of the party. We still get chuckles out of our former governor who lived in the Annapolis Hilton because his wife wouldn't leave the state house.

Mfume/O'Malley/Simms/Franchot I know hubby (absentee) voted Mfume/O'Malley but not sure on the rest. My first experience with Diebold machines. No problems but our election judges sure don't like or trust them.
The Schaeffer/Owens thing really turned me from both. Schaeffer should of retired years ago but Owens should of hushed and let Schaeffer make an ass of himself by himself. Started feeling like I was watching two 5 year old. Besides according to Schaeffer I live in the outhouse of the state.

Here in the 21st. Jim Rosapepe is up at our precinct shaking hands right now. We're making a DVD for him of his appearance on Mark Plotkin's politics show.
It's too bad that Duncan got depressed when he found out how much money he got from Jack Abramoff. He'd have had my vote. I like O'Malley, too. And, although my heart was for Mfume, I voted for Cardin because Mfume had that sexual harassment scandal when he was head of the NAACP that the Repukes will beat him up over.

11. I couldn't tell you half the people... |
|
Cardin/O'Malley/Gansler/Franchot were the biggies, and I voted to keep Jack Johnson in.
But I found myself wondering what the point was in electing judges to the Orphan's Court and Registrar of Wills when I have no clue WHO these people are!
Maybe some offices shouldn't be elected, or if they are, voters should receive a detailed list of the candidates, their backgrounds, and their platforms at least a week before the election.

Guv - O'Malley Senate - Cardin AG - Simms Comptroller - Owens
Congress MD2 - Ruppersberger
State Senate - Norman House of Delegates - Ron Schaefer (family friend, great man and candidate)
The rest are county offices, so I wont bother listing the.
If both Mfume and Simms lose tonight, we're going to be in for a rough November. Mark my words.

Shoulda thought of that when you decided to vote against Mfume.
Cardin is a vote for regression into the past. He's a vote for giving up. I'd vote for him in the fall just to keep something CALLED a Democrat in the Senate seat, but it could have been a race that meant something.
No one will know that Cardin is there the whole six years.

You are EXACTLY right!
Mfume would be a media darling always speaking for Maryland, and as a Senator, speaking for all Dems.
Cardin is a quiet guy. (added on edit: ) Not a bad guy, mind you. I don't get your notion that he's either regressive or not a Dem, but he surely ain't no Mfume. Mfume can excite people.

18. Hugs to everyone who supported our cousin Stu! |

My 88 year old Mom just told me, " Stu is a gem of a man. Maryland is the loser, not Stu. Stu is like Cream in your coffee. It always rises to the top!"
Stu ran his campaign with the grace and strength of his ancestors.

My vote vote Cardin explained -
"Well, for starters, I was banking on a Simms victory. Second, I voted for Cardin out of loyalty. I worked at his HQ, donated, participated in lit drops. However, at the last minute I had a slight change of heart. I was leaning towards Mfume, but the 'electability' thing kept pulling me back to Cardin. The real straw that broke the camels back for me and lead to my vote for Cardin was the fact that Mfume literally has no cash and a very small fundraising base. I figured we (and the DSCC) could not afford to pull millions out of RI, VA, MO, OH, MT, TN, etc... to save Mfume if he fell too far behind."
