Can we request a paper ballot to cast our vote? |
|
We have all Diebold machines where I live and I'm really not comfortable with them. Unless and until the software is verifiable by impartial sources...I won't be comfortable. So, when I go to vote next Tuesday, can I ask for a paper ballot?

1. I don't know the answer to your question |
|
and you may have to ask when you vote. But...Diebold provides the absentee ballots and they are scanned optically so they would probably do the same with paper ballots. In 2004 I voted absentee, but when Ehrlich started telling Republicans to vote absentee I began to worry about them so using the machine all the election workers here hate this time around. Remember they had weird stuff happen with the optical scanners in Flalala in 04.

2. I work as an election judge and I know for a fact that you cannot |

The only thing you could do is go to the wrong polling place and fill out a provisional ballot, then there's no guarantee it will even count. I would either vote absentee or take my chances with the machines.

After reading the stuff about Ann Coulter, I wouldn't suggest that you vote in the wrong polling place.

Good point! I guess I'll just touch the screen and pray!
