Am visiting MD. How would I get from Reisterstown to Washington DC? |
|
There seems to be a light rail system in Baltimore County but how would I transition from MTA to the Washington METRO? The MTA maps on line are not terribly helpful. Is Amtrak available there at all?

About the only way I can think of is to take the train from Pennsylvania Station. But the train only runs from about 8AM to - 4:30 or 5PM. Baltimore and Washington so close but no Metro. The light rail ends in Glen Burnie.

2. How do I get from Reisterstown to PA station in Baltimore? |
|
The MTA site is one of the most frustrating sites. Very counterintuitive. I can't get a whole picture of the system, just a lot of separate quadrants.
Thanks so much for your help!

3. I've lived in the Baltimore area all my life and still do not understand |

they public transportation system. As the previous poster mentioned, your best bet would be to hop on the MARC (correct me if I'm wrong) at Penn Station. Several of my classmates at the University of Baltimore travel from DC to Baltimore on a daily basis for law school. They catch the MARC.
Here is the address for Penn Station-
1515 North Charles Street Penn Station Baltimore, MD 21201
MapQuest is your friend, use it. :P hehe

4. Reisterstown Road? Or Reisterstown? (m) |
|
Reisterstown Road goes from Reisterstown into the city of Baltimore, so I am curious (mainly because I live in Reisterstown :hi:).
The closest thing to Reisterstown is the subway which goes from Owings Mills to the city. The lightrail, which goes from Hunt Valley into Glen Burnie (I think) has a stop near the airport, but I am not completely sure where.
The mass transit system here isn't very good, I am afraid. Your best bet would be to take the train from Penn Station in Baltimore to DC and then pick up the Washington Metro at Union Station.

Runs infrequently, especially the Camden Line (which departs from the Camden Yards area). Make sure you check for the Penn Line, which runs out of Penn Station. Both end up at Union Station in DC.
