Dog Shot During Raid at Elkridge Home
ELKRIDGE, Md. - Howard County Police are missing a police assault rifle, ammunition and other items stolen from a police car and they want it back.
SWAT teams raided a home in Elkridge, Maryland three weeks ago looking for the stolen goods, and in the process, they shot and killed a man's dog.
Michael Hasenei says he heard his front door fly open, ran into his living room, and came face-to-face with a SWAT team, their guns drawn.
"I was asking what's going on and they didn't tell me they were police. They were just saying get down get down," Hasenei said.
His wife and 12-year old daughter were watching television on the couch. He says his wife heard two loud bangs on the door and asked who was there when the officers rammed their way inside.
....
The January 15 search warrant names "Michael L. Piccioni", but that's crossed out and handwritten beneath is Hasenei's step-son Michael L. Smith, who he says hasn't lived there in three years. The search warrant lists 20 items police are after, including a Sig Sauer SWAT assault rifle, ammunition, and other items stolen from two police cars the day before.
