I think he's a good choice....
Gloucester -
Edward O’Reilly, the Gloucester criminal defense attorney who ran unsuccessfully against Sen. John Kerry in the 2008 Democratic primary, is weighing whether to join the race to fill the late Sen. Ted Kennedy’s seat.
The former city councilor and school committee member is giving himself a week to decide. He plans to make his announcement by Sept. 10.
“I put a lot of my own money into the last election,” O’Reilly said in a telephone interview on his way to court Thursday, Sept. 3. “Financially it is a sacrifice to give up the salary and work. I don’t want to enter something unless I think I can win.”
Should he dive in, O’Reilly would join a growing pool of potential Democratic candidates, including Attorney General Martha Coakley – who announced her intention to run on Thursday, Sept. 3 – former congressmen Joseph Kennedy and Martin Meehan, and various current legislators, such as U.S. Reps. Stephen F. Lynch, Edward Markey and John Tierney.
