The company behind a proposed power plant is ready to go head-to-head with some of the project’s fiercest opponents: members of the City Council.
Advanced Power Services NA of Boston recently filed a request to buy treated city wastewater for cooling at the 350-megawatt plant.
The council takes up the request for the first time on Monday, after Councilor-at-large Todd Petti — the only power-plant supporter on the 11-member council — filed an order to initiate the sale.

Officials in West Bridgewater, Whitman and East Bridgewater have expressed opposition to the project, while a task force made up of those towns and several others has formed to study the plant.

The proposed plant, which would burn natural gas
and diesel, is slated for the city’s south side off Oak Hill Way.
Project opponents include nearly all elected officials in Brockton, who worry about health effects caused by pollution from burning fossil fuels.

http://stopthepower.org/page16.html?page_id=2My god, the Stop The Power website SUCKS!
Here is what www.stopthepower.org does NOT have on their website:
1) A place where you can click once to email or fax all your representatives.
2) A place to download web banners
3) A place to donate money
4) A place to buy yard signs and bumper stickers
5) A place to volunteer
What the fuck? No wonder this thing has dragged-out so long.
