Michigan State University announced Tuesday that it will partner with the University of Wisconsin-Madison in establishing the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center, one of three new United States Department of Energy Bioenergy Research Centers.
The center, to be based in Madison, will be funded with $125 million over five years. MSU will use about $50 million for basic science research aimed at solving some of the most complex problems in converting natural materials to energy.
