1. I would love to see it saved, but nobody's got the money right now

I liked Ernie's idea to have boxing matches and gospel concerts there. If they could get something like the Gospel Music Network to sponsor shows there-like the Grand Ol Opry does for country music, they'd get some of the sponsorship they need to make this plan viable.

2. Place is a dump

If something productive can be made in its place, the sooner its demolished, the better.

3. Yeah, let's put a Wal-Mart on the site!

And while we're at it, let's pave over Gettysburg. It would be a great location for an outlet mall!

4. Big Difference Between Gettysburg and Tiger Stadium

If they can build something which brings jobs to the city, I think its worth it. I've seen sources say Detroit's unemployment is as high as 20%, and I don't think Tiger Stadium will do much in the future to help those people get jobs.

5. The neighborhood around it is a viable neighborhood

If the stadium can't be saved, they need some businesses to keep that area stable. There are some good restaurants and classic buildings down on that stretch of Michigan AVE, and the Corktown neighborhood has some really cool houses.

A shopping center with a grocery store, or a Walmart or Meijers would be a good thing in that spot. People who live downtown don't have anywhere nearby to shop at-University Foods is at Warren and the Lodge, and it is way overpriced. With no chain stores left in the city, whoever does build a store has a monopoly of sorts.
