We should be getting a lot of new jobs, according to the "2 goes 2 far" group |
|
I think they were defeated by their own ads. I kept seeing these ads about how all these medical research companies would move in and want to do their work here because it would be allowed here if Proposal 2 passed. The ads had pictures of expensive office buildings where tons of people must work. And I bet that kind of work pays well. We even have out-of-work medical researchers, thanks to Pfizer. That is NOT a way to get people to vote against something in Michigan right now - promising a bunch of high paying jobs.

And let's say it does bring jobs. Even a couple hundred would be better than a kick in the ass. When someone came up to me and asked about Prop 2, I suggested that it would take a lot of different things like that. The movie thing, tourism etc. will get this state off the auto tittie. Sorry to put it that way, but it's true.
You see, I am from here, and I never had a desire to work in auto-related stuff, although I did in some ways over the years. I also lived near Denver and Chicago--places where there is a better economy than here because of a diverse economic base.
