Michigan's Constitution states the following: |
|
Article IX, Sec. 24 of the Michigan Constitution:
The accrued financial benefits of each pension plan and retirement system of the state and its political subdivisions shall be a contractual obligation thereof which shall not be diminished or impaired thereby.
The Governor is sweeping this away with his "emergency" bill, along with sweeping away elected officials such as mayors, school boards, etc.

2. Governor Snyder's plans were |

evident from the start. I posted his intentions Nov.1 2010. The op is still here. Saw this one coming a mile away. Most of the people must get hurt beyond repair before they will stand up and demand that their rights be protected. We Michiganders did not have to be slapped down to the ground to see what was coming. But there were some who needed waking up. Governor Snyder is here to do the bidding of Republicans and hid under the guise of being a nerd. I personally watched and drove around to the polls and saw a dismal turnout. Now that he is running over the working class of this state like a locomotive out of control, everyone is mad as hell. well I was mad as hell before he took the oath of office.
