Steve Yzerman retires and Ben Wallace leaves the Pistons on the same day.

2. Yzerman's retirement was hardly a surprise

I would have liked to see him get another cup first, but his body can only hold up for so long. He's taken too many bad injuries over the years-I would rather see him retire healthy than risk a permanent disability by playing another season.

The Wings should hire him to personally coach the next captain, who I assume will be one of the young guys, like Datsuk or Zetterburg.
