Does Michigan have auto auto emissions/inspection testing?

I'm trying to figure out how much my "startup" costs will be when I move. I've already figured out from the Michigan SecState website what my fees will be for a driver's license and car title. Registration and plates are assessed on the basis of a car's value, of which I have no idea at this time. But I could not find anything about requirements for either vehicle emissions testing or safety inspection. Here in Texas all cars have to do a yearly safety test, while the populous counties have to do an emissions test. Does it depend on the county? I'd just like to find out approximately how much it will cost me to do all of the things associated with transferring my car ownership and registration to Michigan.

The worst emissions offenders were usually exempt-old cars owned by the poor (presentation of a medicaid card made one exempt) and trucks.

It was proven at one point that emissions levels in Kent County were as high as the three counties that were having testing done (Wayne, Oakland and Macomb). Other counties were getting higher levels than they used to.

Yeah, the test was only $10, but the repairs could be expensive, especially on a paid-for car that was built in the 80s. All that emissions control and computer stuff was new in cars then and it broke down easily.
