My Rottie made a Series prediction on the day the Cards eliminated the Mets |
|
Sometime early last Thursday, my dog caught and played with a male Cardinal. Later that day, the MLB Cards defeated the Mets in game 7 of the NLCS.
Is it '68 all over again? I'm thinking Vietnam/Iraq and lying presidents. I'm thinking Cards having a 3-1 game lead in the World Series.
I'm gonna miss that bird, especially in the winter months where he was often the only bit of color in a drab landscape.

1. It is '68 all over again. |

The only difference is that we're not seeing blood, guts, gore and choppers on the TV screen and there's no general with the daily body count. And no draft.
Sorry about the cardinal--my mom has a couple on her feeder already. They do brighten up a Michigan winter, which seems to be off to a good start in some parts of the state.
Last night was painful, but if we could do it in '68, we can do it now.
If only Mickey Lolich hadn't eaten so many of his donuts, I'd put him in the bullpen just for the sake of moral.
