2. Not even close to being called yet - U.S. House - District 9 - 23 of 315 Precincts Reporting |
|
There's something SERIOUSLY wrong with getting the returns in for the 9th District. Less than 10% have reproted BUT more than 50% ove EVERY OTHER district have reported.
Something has to explain that delay ... COOKING THE BALLOTS?

3. Pontiac had major problems |
|
and Waterford ran out of ballots. I spoke to a man there at about 6:45 who had just come back from trying to vote. He was pissed -- they ran out of ballots and were turning people away in droves. We called the county and they were going to try to get more ballots out to them. I don't know what wound up happening. I hope they kept the polls open late, but I don't know how they would notify the people who had been turned away. In Pontiac, they were still voting at 10 p.m.
It's been nasty, but even though Nancy's down now, I don't think it's over yet. She had a very strong following in Pontiac and they had major turnout. Turnout was much better than expected there and in Waterford, which is why they ran out of ballots.

4. The OC GOP has worked at suppressing the Pontiac vote for years. |
|
This was no accident, imho.
Pappageorge, in fact, is infamous for remarks he's made in this exact vein.

Somehow Andy Levin has managed to win, it appears, thank goodness, but I'm really concerned about Nancy. I wish they'd get that last 22 percent counted. The SOS site has nothing. They're showing 0 vote from Oakland County. I don't get it.

7. Oakland County and City of Royal Oak - both run election result websites |

SharonRB worked on the Skinner campaign, so I believe she's quoting campaign office info. Here's the Oakland County website ... http://www.oakgov.com/clerkrod/division_committee/elections/20061107_election/results.html

8. Last night I only had what I saw on TV |
|
I see this morning on the oakgov site that Andy wound up losing by 776 votes. I can't believe it!
Pontiac is the only 28 precincts in the entire state not reporting. Pretty fishy to me. I understand Pontiac had a 30 percent turnout -- far below everyone else -- most cities in the 9th, at least, were over 60 percent. What doesn't make sense is that at 4 o'clock they had 11,000 votes and they wound up with a total of 13,000. Pretty suspect to me. Nancy had 11,000 of the 13,000 total to Joe's 2,000. I have no idea why their results aren't showing up on the site, as I understand they're all counted.
