Say that I put the Dem first, and the independent/green/yellow second. And the Republicans do the same. Wouldn't the third party, then, come out first?
As I've posted before, I think that IRV is confusing, even more so for all the voters who did not fill their "bubble" in full, or just put a check mark..
My cousin from Chicago was out of the country before Thanksgiving and now called me: what is going on with the Senate Race in Minnesota? GA is voting now? I really don't know, was my reply and, yes, I wish we had a runoff election, too. I think that it would even been cheaper..
Sigh..

...40% chose the Democrat as their first choice, and 40% chose the Republican as their first choice and 20% chose the Green as their first choice.
Then the ballots which had the Green candidate as the first choice would be examined, and the second choice on those ballots would count.
