LTE:
Letter to the Editor of the Star-Tribune:

Four hundred men, women and children in Gaza have been murdered and 1.5 million civilians deprived of food and medical supplies. F-16 airplanes, purchased by US taxpayers, are killing with the ease of shooting ducks in a barrel, while the US government condemns only the primitive weapons of the Palestineans.

The upcoming Israeli elections are undoubtedly a major reason for the slaughter -- as well as the possibility that the upcoming Obama government just might show a more balanced policy in the Middle East than previous US administrations.

Israel must immediately end its devastating bombing of Gaza, one the of the most densely populated places on Earth. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and other Israeli leaders are the cause of a humanitarian catastrophe against the Palestinian people.

Judah Maccabee, who is remembered on Hanukkah, did not lead his fight for Jerusalem in order for his people to become barbarian butchers. The government of Israel has created a Gaza ghetto that shames me and fellow Jews and everyone who remembers the Nazi Holocaust with horror.

1. Slaughtering children does not make us safer, no matter which government does it
During the recent attacks on Gaza, WAMM joined a new coalition: Minnesota Coalition for Gaza. WAMM supports the following actions and encourages you to attend and do everything you can to raise your voice at the high-tech slaughter by Israel, with the complicity of the U.S., of defenseless Palestinians in Gaza. Of course, we do not want anyone to experience any violent attack--Israelis either--but the enormity of the attack on Gazans, who have already been subject to a brutal siege, is causing unbearable tragedy to an entire population. ?Hundreds of innocent children, men, and women in Gaza are being wounded and massacred by Israel's senseless and brutal air raids on neighborhoods, houses, universities, and mosques. Children walking in the wrong place at the wrong time had their lives taken away, and their parents are suffering with more pain and despair as an endless stream of Apache helicopters are rained down on Gaza with no end in sight.? Women Against Military Madness has a long-standing Middle East Committee and is a member of the Coalition for Palestinian Rights and Middle East Peace Now. During the recent attacks on Gaza, WAMM joined a new coalition: Minnesota Coalition for Gaza. A few news sources, not twisted by the U.S. propaganda machine:
