the new Indonesian restaurant, Bali, on Eat Street.

Good Indian restaurants are hard to find here in the Twin Cities. I don't think there are any on Eat Street, although I know of three downtown.

7. There may be a good Indian restaurant in Bloomington

I say "may" because I'm not big on spicy food and wouldn't know good from bad Indian cuisine.

Anyway, this restaurant is in the strip mall at the corner of Lyndale Ave & 98th St. It opened in the last year and I notice on weekends there are always a lot of people who appear to be Indians around the restaurant on weekends.

11. By the way, I checked out Bali on the web, and it turns out that

it's not technically on Eat Street, but on Nicollet on the edge of downtown. The menu is still small and may be a bit pricey. I phoned, and they open at noon on Saturday.

I also checked out the other option for unusual Southeast Asian food, which is on Eat Street, namely Peninsula.

It has a larger menu, more reasonably priced entrees, and opens at 11AM. So that would be my choice.

The rest of you may like to look at the links and see which restaurant appeals to you more.

My ex and her new hubby moved to Albert Lea last fall. And I still have to do all the damn driving to pick up my kid.

So at noon on Saturday I'll probably be just arriving in Albert Lea and far too distant to attend the lunch. :-(

27. Today's meetup occurred in two shifts:

jasonc, me, ftbc, and ftbc's partner in the first shift, then suegeo showed up (long time no see), then ftbc and partner left, and then GApsnes showed up. I left after a while, so if anyone else showed up after that, I don't know about it.

The food at Peninsula was unusual and delicious.
