Best scenic place in twin cities area to take photos? |
|
Gots me a new camera today (the closeout price was rather better than even internet prices so I couldn't have gotten it from CC).
Where's the best places in the TC area to snap some shots?
Due to health issues, I cannot drive to Duluth, where wintertime at Lake Superior is said to bring in some unique sights, so I want to stay around home... :(
Thank you much!
New camera: Canon EOS450D (aka Digital Rebel Xsi) with 18-55 wide angle lens Also got a Tamron 18-270 lens with image stabalization, as the 28-300 lens didn't wow me and that extra 30mm is effectively useless and I'll bet getting a 2x telephoto converter anyway...
Thx!

2. Aren't they still closed for renovation/repair? |
|
:(
Otherwise a great suggestion; the new camera is capable of rather more clarity than the previous ones -- not that those other pics I'd done were bad after a wee bit of augmentation with photoshop...

5. Lebanon Hills out in Eagan is one of my favorite parks in the Twin Cities |
|
It is a very large park, and it is especially beautiful in the spring time. Also I don't know what part of the city you are in, but Interstate Park in Taylor's Falls is a very unique and beautiful park and it is not too far outside the Twin Cities area.

6. Walk or bike along Minnehaha Parkway |
|
Or go along East River Road or West River Road along the river for good shots.

7. view of downtown Minneapolis skyline from Lake Calhoun |
|
go to the southwest corner at dusk on a sunny day (near Xerxes). The colors of the setting sun reflect on the glass buildings for some amazing color effects, especially against a darkening clear blue sky. In the foreground will be Lake Calhoun, which is frozen white now, but in other seasons you would have the blue lake. It wouldn't hurt to have a sailboard or sailboat in the foreground. This is the lake where those ice kites go, and that would be a nice foreground if you could catch it.
