Best Buy maplewood store (694/White Bear Lake intersection) - has a 17" MacBook pro for $1677! |
|
Outlet/clearance price.
Open box model.
Last year's model (2.53GHz CPU, 4GB DDR2-667 RAM, old style touchpad with the two buttons)
Contains everything.
In primo condition. I was so tempted to get it... as I had returned my Macbook Pro (2.4GHz, 2GB RAM) because the screws were too tight and I didn't want to wreck it putting in a RAM upgrade.
I bought the new 15.4" model anyway (2.66GHz CPU, 4GB DDR3-1066 RAM), even though I paid rather more.
I don't need two Macbooks, but it is one heckuva deal.
And if they support up to 8GB, I do have spare RAM lying around (DDR2-800, Corsair brand) that's new but couldn't be returned to newegg... OS X 10.5.6 would see 6GB of it, but 10.6 should see it all... Not to throw in a crass sales pitch, but I bought that RAM for a laptop that ultimately got replaced due to a problem with the hard drive...
