How to stay busy when you are laid off. |
|
Hopefully you are receiving unemployment.
After you have updated your resume, sent it out, applied on all the online places you could. did all your homework and all your chores.. after all that.
Instead of getting bored/frustrated and addicted to video games..
Go make a sign, and take a lawn chair and sit for a couple hours or more in front of a TV, or Radio station. or sit inside your Congress person's office (especially if they are a REpublican).
and if you are feeling really brave (or depraved) take a sleeping back and sleep on the grass at the Capitol or the Gov mansion (have to be able to jump a fence). No one is even using that house.
We have exhaustively, wrote letters to the editor (mine were never published), signed petition after petition, called radio shows, posted on blog sites, stood with signs in front of Gov's mansion. attended Town Hall meetings to say restore the taxes on the wealthy and to butcher healthcare anymore. We have called, and called, and called and called our Reps and The Gov. We have taken time off work (those of us who still have a job) and marched in the rotunda when Legislation started (god! was that back in Jan ? ) and said "Tax the Rich, not the Poor!".. state in hearings..etc..
So if you have some free time.. and need something constructive to do.. go sit in a Rep's office, and tell them you are on a hunger strike. or campout at the Gov's mansion
