1. The decision is supposed to come any day now. |

I would be very surprised if the Supreme Court does not rule before the end of the week, and it is pretty clear that they are going to rule for Franken. The big question now is whether or not Pawlenty will sign the election certificate, many people say he is legally obligated to sign it but the law is not real clear so it is possible that he could try dragging things out longer. I just hope he signs it because this is getting ridiculous.

2. the republicans will draw this out just as long as they can. |

"by any means necessary," my apologies for the misappropriated quote.... it is to their advantage to keep one DFL senator out office as long as possible. Money is no object for these people. they just want to deflect the will of the people to suit their ends. don't bet on this being solved this week, or any time soon, for that matter.
just my speculation based on conversations with friends too embarrassed to admit they're republicans....

3. It is the national party that is really pushing this |

Many local Republicans (moderates, not the 20%ers/party faithful) are ready to toss in the towel and move on and work to get the seat back when Franken's term is up.
