quite the character - and he just happened to be carrying a copy of the 1937 Farmer Labor party platform. There were 3 or 4 of us talking to him when he pulled it out to show us a couple passages that could easily apply today. He did say he is a member of the Farmer Labor wing of the party - I gotta love that :bounce:
The picnic had a very good turnout and the rank & file DFLers there acutally out numbered candidates for governor. I noticed that any candidate who mentioned single payer got an enthusiastic reaction (John Marty being the one who is doing the best and seemingly most sincere job of pushing SP). Candidates like Steve Kelley who say the support "affordable healthcare" got polite applause. I think more of my fellow serfs are wising up to the idea that the phrase "affordable healthcare" is a dodge.
I still haven't made a decison who to support - though Kelley and Brakk (sp) are pretty much off my list.
