Finally, a governor that we deserve ... even if it’s only for one day.

I wanted to share with you the exciting news about Founders Day on Saturday, September 26: our keynote speaker will be Governor Brian Schweitzer of Montana. You’ve probably heard his commercials promoting tourism in Montana. Or you may remember Governor Schweitzer from his inspiring speech at the Democratic National Convention last summer. (You can see the speech here.) He also chairs the Democratic Governors Association, and will be involved in key decisions about allocating resources among gubernatorial contests around the nation in 2010 — including ours.

Founders Day will highlight our outstanding field of gubernatorial candidates. Each candidate will deliver brief remarks at the dinner. After dinner, you can meet & mingle with all the candidates at our candidate fair. (If you can’t join us for the Founders Day dinner, please join us for dessert and the candidate fair for only $25.)

And during the after-dinner candidate fair, there will be an auction where you can win lunch with your favorite candidate — or maybe one that you have a couple questions for.

We get Governor Schweitzer for just one day. But with his help, and yours, Founders Day will kick off a winning DFL campaign cycle that will get us another governor that we deserve — right here in Minnesota, for four years. Please join us on Saturday the 26th and help us down the road to winning the governorship for the first time in 24 years.
