I buried a young cat today |

Dear Mayor Rybak,
Please put a Moratorium on Foreclosures in the city of Minneapolis.
I went over to the boarded up home of Rosemary Williams to try and find the little cat that she used to feed. I thought it was going to be hard to find Meow-meow, I was going to bring her home so she wouldn't freeze since Rosemary was forcibly removed from her home and this little neighborhood cat was the least of her worries. I didn't have trouble finding Meow-meow.. she was laying in the front yard dead. She probably died this morning. I found a place to bury her, and with another woman who has been helping other women fight foreclosure we buried Meow-meow. I felt guilty crying over a cat, when so many women and children are going to freeze when they don't have a home? Some women don't have family and friends they can live with when they lose their home. You don't have control over single payer healthcare, but you do over foreclosures. Please put a moratorium on the foreclosures.

This truly saddens me. Its just not an abstraction anymore when we are confronted with the results of war. Yes, we live in a state of war. the rich declared war on us long ago and have been grinding us under their heels for generations. Every death of a home sends ripples through a whole community. Children, pets, grandchildren, friends, neighbors and local businesses. They will not rest until we are destroyed. But like Michael Moore said I refuse to live in such a country and refuse to leave. Thanks for touching my heart.
