52% approve of Pawlenty, 51% Bachmann

In the poll, Gov. Tim Pawlenty got a thumbs-up from 52 percent of the state's likely voters, with 47 percent saying they don't approve of the job he's doing.

Asked about a possible Pawlenty presidential run in 2012, 42 percent said they'd vote for him, while 46 percent said they wouldn't.

Rasmussen also asked about the performance of Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., whose national profile has been sky-high in recent months, giving her exposure far beyond her Sixth Congressional District.

Fifty-one percent of likely voters said they approve of Bachmann's performance, while 45 percent do not. A third said they strongly disapprove of the job she's doing, while 28 percent strongly approve.

It seems that you can go full wingnut and still carry 50% in the state right now. :crazy:

3. I get the impression that Rasmussen is one of those polls that over-samples right-wingers?

I was a Zogby subject for a month or so, and we got to see the results, including the breakdown of the respondents, after we submitted our answers. Zogby always polled more Republicans than Democrats, so his "approval ratings" for Bush were always suspect.

They'd get to me "strongly approving" Hatch or "strongly disapproving" Pawlenty, and...dead air.
Happened twice (both situations).

So are we to believe 52% of people have no problem with Pawlenty NOT doing his job as he travels to Iowa or wherever on his Unannounced Campaign of Futility? (Maybe 1/2 of the 52% are happy he's not doing MORE damage?!)

7. He's in trouble with the hunters in the state

for the way he did not look for the deer he injured and just let go off to suffer and die.

Sadly, being a "slob hunter" (that's what they're calling him) may hurt him more than cutting GAMC. Something is very wrong with that, but I'll take it if that's what it takes to hurt his image.
