Leslie Park might be evicted Nov 30th, Anyone have a good # to call Indy Mac?

Nov. 17, was a big day in the legal and financial fight to save the Parks home: Leslie’s mother, Tecora Parks, recorded a ‘quit claim’ deed to officially put the property in Leslie’s name. While Tecora had homesteaded the property to her daughter years ago, that arrangement made it harder for Leslie to get financing on her own. In any case, today’s quit claim deed opens up new avenues for securing financing for the home.

But, time is short and we all need to take action to make sure the home stays in the Parks family. The “redemption period” still ends Nov. 30. If nothing changes, at that point IndyMac can start eviction proceedings.

IndyMac Federal Bank FSB is the bank that owns the property. Some IndyMac reps are claiming that they won’t do a “short payoff” during the redemption period. Leslie is working on securing financing and actually has enough for a viable short payoff, if only IndyMac would agree.

On Thursday, Nov. 19, 4:30 pm we will be officially launching our campaign to “Call IndyMac! Call the FDIC!” with a press conference at Leslie Parks’ house, 3749 Park Ave in Mpls. Please try to be there, and keep reading for the latest developments.

Background:
Because of needing to pay for city-ordered repairs, Tecora Parks, Leslie’s mother, was swindled into getting an ARM (adjustable rate mortgage). The man from Allied Mortgage who sold her the ARM lied and insisted it was a conventional loan. It is important to note that Tecora Parks had perfect credit and qualified for a conventional loan hands down. But she was lied to, got swindled into an ARM, and after months of trying to keep up, both Tecora and Leslie lost their good credit and went into foreclosure.

Remember, these banks got billions in bailout money and the feds “gifted” IndyMac to OneWest Bank. In this time of economic crisis, we have to let them know that it is time that the people got some help.

1. WOW
I bet she has a great malpractice case against the attorney who represented her at the closing. As we all know, her attorney should have advised he of the conditions of the mortgage. I presume you will update us on that case.

2. It was her elderly and trusting mother to signed the papers
You know how these elderly parents can be.

Anyhow.. yes there is an update.. and if there is enough pressure hopefully Leslie will get to keep the home. If you get a change drive by this week adn see all the signs. She is determined to show how many homes have been foreclosed on this year in the nation.

ok.. here is the info.

Save Leslie Parks' home!
Call IndyMac/One West

...the company trying to steal another home from our community

1. Steven Mnuchin: 212-301-8400
One West Bank chairman of the board of directors

2IndyMac/One West: 800-669-2300 3(directory), then zero for operator, who refers you to “Corporate Customer Experience.” Leave a message, which “will be returned in 24 hours.” Direct this message to CEO Terry Laughlin.

Explain you are calling about the Parks property at 3749 Park Ave in Minneapolis.

Tell them to quit stalling and come to the table - before the redemption period ends on Nov. 30 - so the Parks family can keep their home. Ms. Parks has secured enough financing for a viable “short sale,” and her offer should be accepted.

Also, make the point that they are reaping a corrupt “benefit” from the fraudulent practice of a mortgage broker that sold Tecora Parks on an ARM on behalf of IndyMac. They are making money off of a swindle. We are sick of banks wrecking our communities.

IndyMac thinks it can make big bucks trying to steal this home, but it won't, because

Leslie Parks has no intention of giving up!

(and then call your State Rep and tell them to put a Moratorium on Foreclosures. )

3. Must Be An Honest Mistake
I'm going to assume it was an honest mistake on your part that you didn't let us know about the malpractice case she has against the attorney who represented her in the refinancing. I'm looking forward to hearing about that.

4. Not all states have closing attorney. and MN doesn't have them
There were so many closings during that time that many lenders had group closings.

When Leslie went with her mother to sign the papers, she tried to ask questions but she said it was hard because there was a line of people behind her.

5 years ago, I worked as a temp for a large lender, and they were so backed up on closings, they would rent out ballrooms at hotels to do these large 3 day closings. I don't remember which states these would happen in but I do know MN was one of them.
