Vets for Peace remind us Howard Zinn's books available and local MayDay Books
(I love MayDay books. It is a local place that is full of political, history, and social justice books and there is hot coffee and interesting conversation.
It is under Midwest Mountaineering on Cedar Ave just past Riverside.

Veterans For Peace member Howard Zinn died recently.

He was best known as author of The Peoples' History of the United States.

After serving in the Air Force in World War II as bombardier on a B-17 bombing Europe he came back, went to college, got a PHD, became a professor and got fired for civil rights activity. He spent his life writing, teaching and working for justice for all workers. His books include:

Zinn for Beginners 160 pp $12.75

Zinn Reader 740 pp $18.70
