WTF has happened to MN? I thought this used to be a progressive state. Sheesh, Wisconsin had 3 out of 8 voting for it and all we can manage is one measly "Yea" vote? Pathetic.
Screw Kansas. The new saying is "What's the matter with Minnesota?"
Hey, any of you Mpls DUers want to trade me Ellison for McCollum? I'm really tired of her. It seems to me that after Pelosi became Speaker, McCollum latched onto her coattails and took a turn to the right. She used to be progressive but now she's just like the rest of them. Sigh. Looks like I'll have to write McCollum and "thank" her for her vote. Heh, this should be fun. It's been awhile since I've written a snarky letter to any of my elected officials.

Everyone be sure to thank them for flushing another trillion dollars down the toilet, and for all the extra deaths their vote will enable.
Keith Ellison -- the one sane voice carrying the Wellstone torch.
Thanks Keith!

4. Gives a date to get out of Aghanistan |
|
SUMMARY: Directs the President, pursuant to the War Powers Resolution, to remove the U.S. Armed Forces from Afghanistan: (1) by no later than 30 days after this resolution is adopted; or (2) if the President determines that it is not safe to remove them by such date, by no later than December 31, 2010, or such earlier date that the President determines that they can be safely removed.
---
David Obey (D-WI) voted for it...he's the Chair of Appropriations. Late last year, he was proposing a war tax (1% - "share the sacrifice").
Oh, and - thanks, Keith! (Yes, there are arguments about 30 days, but no later than 12/31/10 doesn't seem unreasonable...what exactly is a "win" here? How much longer? How much more money?)

5. OK, I was going to say something snarky, but I see I misread it. |
|
I'm fine with my rep's vote, though.
