Klobuchar votes against capping credit card interest rates.

Sen. Whitehouse of RI had proposed an amendment to the financial (non-)reform bill that would have allowed states to
impose interest rate caps on out-of-state lenders. This would mean that credit card companies would no longer be able to use a national rate that is set in the state where they are chartered. Delaware and South Dakota have no interest rate caps so the sky's the limit. That's why so many fine, upstanding credit card companies are located in those states.

You would think that allowing states to cap the current usurious rates would be a good thing. Well, that's something that Amy just couldn't abide so naturally, she voted against the amendment. Once again, Klobuchar screws the poor and working class and bends over to kiss the asses of her corporate masters. No surprise there. Hey, at least she's consistent!

Franken, of course, voted for the amendment.

BTW, the vote wasn't even close. 60 Nays and 35 Yeas with 5 not voting. Yeah, that Dem majority in the Senate sure is doing us a lot of good.
