OK, This year's food-on-a-stick must-try item is Camel-on-a-Stick. |

Minnesota State Fair Exotic Food-on-a-stick Update!
Camel! You'll find it at the Midway Global Market booth in the International Building. The most exotic thing this year, I'm pretty sure.
I'll be there, right after I have my Scotch Egg-on-a-Stick. Life's good in Minnesota...truly. You just don't find camel everywhere.
I was hoping for cobra-on-a-stick this year, but it's not to be. No Naja (genus name of cobra family) for me this year..

2. Seriously, I bet it's a Somali thing |

When I tutored Somali refugees in Portland in the mid 1990s, they wanted to know if I knew a good source for camel meat. They claimed it was absolutely the best and wonderful for sick people.
I certainly didn't know of anyone who sold it, but driving down Lake Street these days, I do see halal butcher shops advertising camel meat.

Camels are for riding, not eating.
