This site accepts Republican advertising money. |
|
I'm viewing a post and up in the right corner a ad that says "fewer jobs" below a picture of Mark Dayton, "reckless spending" under a picture of Obama, and "Higher Taxes" under a picture of Tom Horner. Really DU Admin??? "Prepared and paid for by the Republican Party of Minnesota".
I've been a member for a very long time. I've previously donated. I put up with infighting, name calling and over-reaction, however I have never thought of leaving until now. How 'bout you chop that last sentence up to say "Paid by the Republican Party of Minnesota" and plaster that on your Minnesota section.
Pathetic.

1. Right now there are TWO anti-Dayton ads visible to me |
|
This is disgusting.
I haven't donated because of financial problems, but I'll be damned if I send money to a site that takes ads that directly bash a liberal Democratic candidate and former Dem Senator.

2. DU isn't soliciting these ads...it has to do with online ads (Google AdWords) |
|
You'll see it on other sites too. The Repubs have bought keywords and not particular site presence. DU participates in Google ads to help fund it (other than donors).
I know...I don't like seeing Repub ads either, but DU isn't accepting Repub advertising money. For it not to show ads, then they'd need to charge (not just the current voluntary donation process). I really like DU, not so much the infighting, name calling and overreaction. But I haven't found anything comparable yet. We all can't donate for whatever reason, but don't ditch us, please! MN DU needs you.
Although...them wasting money advertising on liberal blogs is them wasting money! Kinda like when Bachmann ran some ads a few months ago on AM950. Stupid.

6. This is correct, no control over these ads |
|
I have the same thing on my blog, www.dodgerdigital.com Nothing to be done about it. Don't sweat it. I don't.

If republicans think it is their best interests to spend money here that is great. They will probably not convert any voters and it is resources they cannot spend elsewhere. I don't see this as a bad thing. Actually, it is a good thing.

5. I just finished taking the DU Survey. |
|
Within, it asked a variety of questions regarding content. Essentially it was a questionaire about our principles and where should the line be drawn. I'm not interested in passing the buck onto google or the source of revenue streams. This ad is an overt attack on Democrats. Not only is it false, but it runs absolutely counter to what this site promotes. But whatever; I'm sure Skinner and EarlG sleep very well at night.
